چکیده

This paper presents ELMS, a language used for the specification of multi-agent environments. This language is part of the MAS-SOC approach to the design and implementation of multi-agent based simulations. The approach is based on specific agent technologies for cognitive agent programming and highlevel agent communication, as well as ELMS. We here concentrate on introducing ELMS, which allows the description of environments in which agents are to be situated during simulations. The ELMS language also allows the definition of the agents’ perceptible properties and the kinds of (physical) interactions, through action and perception, an agent can have with the objects of the environment or the perceptible representations of the other agents in the environment.

Design Support for Multi-Agent Controller Specification in 20-Sim

Practical complex control problems are often solved using multiple control algorithms. In such cases a complex problem is divided into smaller simpler problems for which separate local controllers can be developed. These local controllers may work together to solve the complete problem. Multi Agentbased Controllers (MAC) are based on this idea. To aid in the design of Multi Agent-based Control ...

Spatially Distributed Normative Infrastructure

In previous works we have presented a model to describe and simulate environment for situated multi-agent systems, that we called ELMS. Here, we present an extensions to our model that provide means to have normative information distributed in the environment. Organisational structures for multi-agent systems are usually defined independently of any spatial or temporal structure. Therefore, whe...

An Environment Description Language for Multirobot Simulations

A relevant problem of simulation (but also of real systems) is the knowledge that robots have of the environment. Generally this is very poor, or quite lacking, and the robots have to explore the world around them with their sensors. In a simulation process, sensor bearings are particularly lacking and the knowledge of the environment should be built using informations obtained in other way. We...

Brahms: a multi-agent modelling environment for simulating work processes and practices

Modelling and simulating work processes is often done at such an abstract level that individual work practice – collaboration, communication, ‘off-task’ behaviours, multi-tasking, interrupted and resumed activities, informal interactions, use of tools and movements – is left out, making the description of how the work in an organisation actually gets done impossible. This paper describes the Br...

A Data-driven Method for Crowd Simulation using a Holonification Model

In this paper, we present a data-driven method for crowd simulation with holonification model. With this extra module, the accuracy of simulation will increase and it generates more realistic behaviors of agents. First, we show how to use the concept of holon in crowd simulation and how effective it is. For this reason, we use simple rules for holonification. Using real-world data, we model the...
